Ederle-Burke Swim
The Ederle Burke Swim is a 28 km (17.5-mile) race between The Battery (Manhattan Island) and Sandy Hook, New Jersey, organized annually by New York Open Water. It is named after Gertrude Ederle , who swam the route in 1925, and Eileen Burke , a New York public school teacher who participated in the 2010 and 2011 Ederle Swim .
