Comments: "Andrew is the best pilot and navigator in the PNW. He’s very dedicated and committed to seeing swimmers finish. His current boat does not have a bathroom and is open top with a small canopy, crew should plan ahead of time and communicate bathroom plans as well as bring sunscreen/hats."

Comments: "NOWSA is a smaller marathon swim association who run fewer swims a year compared to larger organizations. Therefore, communication can be slower than other bodies who run many swims a year. Planning in advance is best with NOWSA, especially with tidal conditions in the Puget Sound, which they are experts at understanding and helping you figure the best start time for your swim."

General Comments: "Puget Sound and Salish Sea swims are cold water swims, ranging 49-57F (you can get warmer swims in the summer in the lakes), but the water and scenery is some of the most stunning I’ve ever seen! I’ve swam a few different routes, loved all of them, and love the challenge of figuring out tides and currents. You’ll often see animals on the swims too, from jellyfish to fish to seals and sea lions to the occasional porpoise or orca. I’d highly recommend for any cold water lover!"
